The seminary provides on-campus housing for its student body. Two residence buildings are designated for men, one for women, and thirty-five apartments for married students and their families.
On-Campus Single Student Housing
Rooms for single male students are located in the Germack Building at the center of campus and in the North Dormitory. Each room is supplied with a bed, a dresser, a desk and chair, and closet space. Bathroom facilities in each residence hall are shared.
The women's residence hall is connected to the Education Building complex and is situated above the bookstore. As with the men's residence halls, each room has a bed, dresser, a desk and chair, and closet space. Bathroom facilities are shared. Laundry facilities are available in the dormitory.
Each residence hall has a Common Room for gatherings and social functions.
On-Campus Married Student Housing
The seminary also provides apartments for married students. The apartments are located on the north and west side of campus. To be considered, applicants must request in writing as early as possible in the spring semester prior to the following academic year to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. The formal request should indicate the size of the family.
Married students are responsible for monthly rent and utilities. Please see “Fees.” Apartments range in size from one to three bedroom facilities and each provides basic accommodations, namely, a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Laundry facilities are easily accessible on campus.
A playground on the seminary campus, situated close to the north side apartments, provides students' children a pleasant place to gather and play. A small park, one block from the seminary campus, provides another environment for outside activity.
Internet Access
The seminary values the research and study benefits of Internet access. Students living on campus may access the seminary network and Internet using their own personal computers equipped with Ethernet connections. Wireless Internet can be accessed from certain areas on campus.
In addition, workstations are available in the Library and other locations. Students may also connect personal laptops to jacks in the Library.
Off-Campus Housing
The seminary encourages on-campus living for all of its married couples. Certain circumstances, however, do arise which require married couples to live off-campus. In these unique cases, the Associate Dean for Student Affairs needs to receive a formal letter from the couple describing the reasons for their request. Rental contracts for off-campus apartments must not be made without the knowledge and consent of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. If a blessing is given, married students are responsible for the market rate of the rental. Information is provided below for those seeking this exception.
