1 pm - 2 pm Keynote: “Holy Images or ‘Sacred Art’?  Perceptions of Icons in Contemporary Society” by Dr Vasileios Marinis, Kallinikeion Assistant Professor of Byzantine Art, Queens College  
3 pm - 3:45 pm Concert: “The Sound of Icons” The Boston Byzantine Choir correlates sacred hymns and sacred art, performing before a visually expressive iconographic background  Rangos Family Building 2nd floor Met Philip Auditorium

2 pm - 3 pm “The Enlightened Eye: On ‘Reading’ Icons,” lively illustrated lecture by Dr Richard Schneider, specialist in Iconology and the Liturgical Arts, St Vladimir’s Seminary     Education Building / Bashir Auditorium

2 pm - 3 pm “Genesis: The Making of an Icon,” a fascinating hands-on demonstration, by iconographer Kh. Erin Mary Kimmet     Kunnet Auditorium / Three Hierarchs Chapel Basement

Highly interactive workshop based on two new publications: Saints of North America and Saints in Times of Trouble, run by Alexandra Safchuk and Valerie Zahirsky, Co-chairs of the Department of Education of the Orthodox Church in America, and Maria Proch.
