His Eminence, Archbishop Peter, Retired Archbishop of New York and New Jersey, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, November 19, 2007. Archbishop Peter served for many years as Adjunct Professor of Canon Law at St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary. His Eminence was an expert in this field and was a representative of the Orthodox Church at various conferences, meetings and ecumenical dialogues. SVS Press published Archbishop Peter’s doctoral dissertation, “The Church of the Ancient Councils – The Disciplinary Work of the First Four Ecumenical Councils.”
