When St Vladimir’s Seminary hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, February 8, 2008, the Metropolitan Philip Auditorium at 575 Scarsdale Rd in Crestwood, NY was transformed into a clinic for drawing blood. This auditorium, which usually hosts speakers addressing the spiritual life, became a location for the community to give the “gift of life.” All through the day students, faculty, and staff rolled up their sleeves to donate and help save lives.
Kicking off the blood drive, SVS Chancellor Fr Chad Hatfield was one of the first to donate. “This is the first time in several years that the seminary has hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive and since there is a blood shortage at present, all of us who can give, should give. This is an easy and important way our seminary can serve the world around us.”
