New Orthodox Study Bible introduced at St Vladimir’s Seminary PDF Print E-mail

dsc_0332.jpgOn Wednesday, February 27, the Very Reverend Peter Gillquist, Chairman of the Department of Missions and Evangelism of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, came to St Vladimir's Seminary to present the newest version of the Orthodox Study Bible containing both the Old and New Testaments. Fr Peter gave a short presentation discussing the 15 year process that brought about this new version of the Orthodox Study Bible, making note that it is the first Orthodox English translation of the Septuagint. Fr Peter also introduced Randy Elliot, VP for Thomas Nelson Ministries, who spoke about what an honor it was for him to be at St Vladimir's Seminary.

Following these presentations, students, faculty, and staff were generously given a brand new copy of the Orthodox Study Bible. His Grace Benjamin, Bishop of San Francisco and the West of the OCA was also visiting the seminary on this day and was one of the first to be given the new Bible. Also visiting the seminary was John Maddex of Ancient Faith Radio who took the opportunity to interview the seminary's dean, Fr John Behr.

St Vladimir’s Seminary thanks Thomas Nelson Publishing for their generous donation of Orthodox Study Bibles for the community. The new Orthodox Study Bible can be purchased at www.svspress.com and www.conciliarpress.com.

A gallery of photographs is now available.
