Crestwood, NY (SVS): St Vladimir's Seminary will celebrate 60 years of service at Orthodox Education Day on October 3, 1998. The all day event will be held on the campus of the seminary in Crestwood, New York.

The theme will be "Orthodox Theological Education in America: Yesterday and Today." Workshops and seminars include:

• John Barnett and Fr. Paul Tarazi on "The Bible in Theological Education"
• Prof. John Erickson and Dr. Paul Meyendorff on "Theological Education and Ecumenism"
• Fr. Anthony Scott on "Strategic Planning in Theological Education"

Fr. Thomas Hopko will chair the final discussion in the main tent.

Several parish choirs also have been invited to participate. The popular youth seminar will be held again. For alumni and friends the annual event has developed into something of a reunion as old friendships are renewed.

The seminary has undergone (and is undergoing) a transformation as a result of the successful capital campaign. Friends and supporters are encouraged to view the construction and renovation projects. The architect's 3D model for the new John G. Rangos Building also will be on display. Groundbreaking for the new building occurred this summer.
