Orthodox theological education is impossible without liturgical worship.  The liturgy is at the heart of seminary life.  The seminarian is fed, enriched, challenged, and instructed in chapel.  As important as academic achievement is, it cannot be separated from worship.  Former Dean Fr Alexander Schmemann was fond of saying that the seminarian should only know three paths: to the classroom, to the library and to the chapel.  The daily worship of God is the context that gives meaning to both academic and communal life.  It is the place where the human heart is tranformed.  The experience of daily worship shapes the seminarian and is the cornerstone of spiritual formation.

Seminarians participate in the daily, weekly, and annual cycles of services.  Normally this means twice-daily services during weekdays in non-fasting seasons -- matins and vespers -- and thrice-daily services during weekdays in fasting seasons -- matins, vespers, and compline.  The usual cycle of worship also includes the Saturday evening vigil service, Sunday morning Liturgy, and special festal and lenten celebrations.  Students are assigned to take an active part in daily reading, serving, and preaching, as well as participate in the seminary choirs. 

Our Chapel, named in honor of the three great hierarchs and ecumenical teachers, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom, was consecrated in 1983.
