SUMMER May 26-June 2, 2013: “A Journey in the Sacred Arts”
Saint Vladimir's Seminary will offer a hands–on iconography workshop designed specifically for college–aged students. This class, endorsed by the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), will be taught by Byzantine Iconographer Kh. Erin Kimmett. Khouria Erin is a graduate of Wichita State University, where she earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. She has designed and produced curriculum materials for the Orthodox Christian Education Commission as well as the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. A trained Byzantine iconographer, Kh. Erin writes icons for Orthodox churches across the country, and owns and manages The Annunciation Press. She is married to The Very Rev. Joseph Kimmett, pastor of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Norwood, MA and is the mother of Nicholas and Zachary.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to serve Christ and His Church by using your God-given gifts and talents to create a traditional icon. Through the experience of painting Christ’s holy image you will encounter His light through prayer, fellowship and reflection. Saint Vladimir’s beautiful campus provides the perfect setting for this program—immersed in campus life yet just a short ride from NY City, you will have an opportunity to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and see a few sights.

Registration – $50.
Room, Meals, Conference – $700.00 (must stay on campus, no other options available)
On-campus housing is in non-smoking, non-air conditioned, dormitory rooms with shared bathrooms. Staying on-campus includes meals at the refectory, which are catered, without individual meal options. The seminary staff will provide sheets and towels. Please bring your own personal items (such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and small fans.) Wireless access to the Internet for personal laptops will be available in the Library when the Reading Room is open, but wireless access in dormitory rooms cannot be guaranteed.
