Why Liturgy Matters: Worship as Witness in a Changing World

Liturgy in the Chapel “The Divine Liturgy offers a unique witness of the Christian faith. Although today's world has little patience for ancient and elaborate rites, our worship remains absolutely necessary.”
- Fr Alexander Rentel, SVS Assistant Professor of Canon Law and Byzantine Studies

New Shorter Format:
This year’s new shorter format begins on Sunday afternoon and concludes on Wednesday afternoon.

Something for Everybody:

  • Focused music practice, workshops and lectures for Church musicians (choir directors, singers or chanters.)
  • Traditional lectures and discussion groups on the Institute’s theme for those seeking to know more about their faith.
NEW THIS YEAR...

A nine-hour program of liturgical rubric instruction is geared particularly to those who are newly-ordained clergy or in a diaconal "late-vocations" program.

Come and ENJOY…

  • active involvement in daily worship
  • connecting with SVS faculty members
  • delving into important theological questions
  • small and large group discussions
  • interactive workshops
  • access to the SVS library and bookstore
  • making new and renewing old friendships
