Interview by Faculty Member/Alumnus Fr. Adrian Budica with Seminarian Stefan Mastilovic
On January 18, 2017, Priest Adrian Budica, director of Field Education and supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at St. Vladimir’s Seminary, interviewed Seminarian Stefan Mastilovic, about his experiences in CPE—a program that brings theological students and ministers of all faiths (pastors, priests, rabbis, imams and others) into supervised encounter with persons in crisis. One unit of CPE (400 supervised clinical hours at a hospital or nursing home facility) is required for all Master of Divinity students at St. Vladimir’s Seminary.
Father Adrian, an alumnus (Th.M. 2010), also holds a position as CPE Supervisor and Coordinator of Clinical Pastoral Education at Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Additionally, he and colleague Chaplain Sarah Byrne-Martelli host the “Wounded Healer” podcast series on Ancient Faith Ministries, in which they share their own personal experiences in caring for others as chaplains.
