Father Benedict received his B.A. from St John's University in Minnesota, his Licentiate in Mediaeval Studies from the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies in Toronto, his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, and his M.Div. from St Vladimir's Seminary in 2010, and he was a Visiting Scholar at the Sicilian Institute of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies in Palermo, Italy. He held adjunct positions at Fordham University and New York University, and he retired from Xerox Corporation after more than 20 years. After priestly ordination in 2010, he began to work full time at St Vladimir's Seminary Press, and he also taught courses in Liturgical Translation and Greek at the Seminary. He does translations of liturgical texts from Greek and Slavonic, and occasionally sets them to music. He maintains a website with Slavonic liturgical texts. A former SCUBA instructor, he also engages from time to time in non-violent exercise. Fr Benedict is Priest in Charge at St George's Orthodox Church in Edenton, North Carolina.
