Doctor of Ministry program recruiting new cohort of students

Empower Your Ministry - The Doctor of Ministry Degree at St Vladimir's Seminary

The Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) program at St. Vladimir's Seminary is recruiting a new batch of ordained and lay ministers to complete the degree program together, starting in the summer of 2022.

The D.Min. program is a hybrid, three-and-a-half-year program integrating doctoral level academic work with pastoral spirituality, helping those already in ministry to refine and enhance their skills in order to better serve their communities. The program offers continuing education, pastoral renewal, practical application for today's challenges, and the opportunity to join a community of teachers and learners who support each other in ministry. Students in the D.Min. program study while living at home through hybrid courses that include distance learning, and they attend four mandatory one-week on-campus intensives during the course of the program, in late-fall and mid-summer. The D.Min.'s hybrid format allows ordained and lay ministers to complete the doctoral degree without having to leave or pause their current ministry.

Every two years, the program recruits a new cohort of students—priests, chaplains, and other pastoral professionals—to progress through the program as members of a team. Members of the cohort grow as Christian ministers while supporting one another in the academic and pastoral elements of the program. In addition to the program objectives, it is hoped that members of the cohort will form lasting bonds that will strengthen and enhance their ministries well beyond graduation.

Saint Vladimir's Seminary is accepting applicants for its new D.Min. cohort until June 1, 2022. Apply today at www.svots.edu/admissions/apply.

Dr Gregory Abdalah at Graduation

"This is the perfect program for anyone who is looking to sharpen their skills, might be feeling like they could be doing more, or need something different but aren’t sure what that is, and it is flexible enough to work within your schedule," said Dr. Gregory J. Abdalah, a 2017 D.Min. graduate who now teaches in the program himself. "Throughout the D.Min. process, my outlook changed and my creativity was back. I was refocused and approached each day differently. It was exactly what I needed."
