His Eminence, Archbishop Michael of New York and the Diocese of New York and New Jersey will headline events on January 30, the Feast of the Three Hierarchs. As part of the special celebration, three more distinguished speakers will be featured in workshops throughout the day along with a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, Mid-Year Commencement, the launch of a special 50 th anniversary commemorative book (published by SVS Press and edited by Academic Dean Dr. Alexandru Tudorie), and a reception. [img_assist|nid=25481|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=200|height=150]The 35 th Annual Father Alexander Schmemann lecture will focus on the centenary anniversary of the enthronement of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow. Dr. Scott Kenworthy , seminary alumnus (M.A. ’96) and associate professor of Comparative Religion at Miami University, Ohio, will be our guest lecturer. The title of his address is: “St. Tikhon of Moscow (1865–1925) and the Orthodox Church in North America and Revolutionary Russia.” The lecture will be part of an Academic Convocation that includes the Commencement Ceremony for graduating Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) students. The graduating students, who comprise the Cohort of 2017, are the first group ever to have been enrolled in the hybrid D.Min.

Family Rangos Building on our campus.
[img_assist|nid=8314|title=|desc=Protopresbyter John Meyendorff, dean of St. Vladimir's from 1984-1992.|link=none|align=left|width=300|height=454]From February 9–11, 2012, the St. Sergius Orthodox Theological Institute will hold an international conference to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the falling asleep in the Lord of Protopresbyter John Meyendorff, one of the most renowned Orthodox theologians of the twentieth century. The conference theme is "The Legacy of Father John Meyendorff, Scholar and Churchman (1926–1992)." Father John served as dean of St. Vladimir's Seminary from 1984 to 1992, and[img_assist|nid=7909|title=|desc=Dr. Paul Meyendorff is slated to speak at the conference.|link=none|align=right|width=113|height=169] as professor of Church History here from 1959 to 1992; he also taught at the St. Sergius Institute, prior to coming to the United Sates.
